I worked with the sixth-graders at Albany Middle School for three years, creating a new ceramic mural for the school each year. Sixth graders study world cultures in California and each child chose a world-culture graphic image that he or she felt represented themselves in some way. The first year we created ziggurat-style pyramid tiles on pillars for the inner courtyard. The second year was insects and birds and butterflies that might be found Above the Garden and the third year was water creatures for Under the Sea.
